In a world that tries to break you down and strip you of love you know is there, my soul sister, Mika, has reminded me that kindness and love can conquer all.

I’ve watched you instinctively choose patience before anger, I’ve always wondered if you were just born with this ability or developed it. When you love, it’s with ease, nothing about being good to those you cherish blocks you from showering them in the best of you. I’ve always admired that, and your actions have made me a better daughter, sister, friend, and person.

Plato said “love is a grave mental disease” but you take the rain and make rainbows. Your love feels like sunlight embracing us, like heaven on earth, like whatever redemption exists in the world, with you we can earn it, without fear of concealed resentment.

I am constantly in awe of the strong bond we’ve kindled and have been offered so early in our lifetime. I can’t wait for the house in Oakland Hills, the summers in Scotland, but most of all, I can’t wait for every moment we’ll spend, because I know every time we come out better versions of ourselves. Whether that's a trip overseas or to DP.

Being your friend, your sister, has given me the greatest intangible gifts. There is a home in you that welcomes me with hope, and when stepping in only my truest self enters. This life is so much better with you in it and I am eternally grateful.

Mika there is no one like you, you’re heart is made of the greatest elements known to the universe. I cry thinking about how incredibly lucky I am to have your love in my life, to experience it in full bloom. Listening to you, I know I’m not alone in this world, that my pains are not singular, that my joys are not fleeting. You affirm my optimistic intuition and remind me with moments of silence soaked by nature, that this life is already incredible.

On this and all days, I hope the love you provide with ease is gifted back to you tenfold. You are light, you are love, you are a blessing in the form of the divine feminine. The best of you is only further developing, and your shine will take you places you’ve never imagined. May all your wishes come true.
